Default Issues with ATI Drivers

Hello everyone,
I have a Radeon X850Pro AGP card, and after updating my drivers a week ago to play Unreal Tournament 3, I've been getting all kinds of issues with Homeworld2. I only noticed these issues after I updated the drivers to the 7.11 Catalyst (8.432.0.0). I was previously using the 6.14.10.6505 drivers with no problems on Homeworld2.

The issues I'm having are graphical artifacts in-game when running Homeworld2. For example, asteroids and pebbles look like big squares especially when I zoom out, as do ship representations when zoomed out. In addition, half the time I exit Homeworld2, my desktop coloration is all obscured and I have to either crash my PC or load another game to reset it (I've tried unplugging the VGA connector with no luck). I've already tried changing my resolution, tweaking all the settings in the Catalyst Control Center and in the Homeworld2 game options, reinstalling Homeworld2, cleaning my registry and reinstalling the drivers to no avail.
When I revert back to the older drivers Homeworld2 works perfectly. However, Unreal Tournament 3 and Supreme Commander require the latest drivers otherwise they have shader issues. Several of my friends are running Nvidia cards with their latest drivers to play Homeworld2 and have no problems.
Any help would be appreciated.

There are known issues with AGP cards beginning with CAT 7.7 version. You should revert to CAT 7.6 or earlier.

Many AGP users are stating that the most stable drivers are the 6.11s.

The Catalyst 7.6 and 7.5 had the same problems 7.11 did. Catalyst 6.11 does seem to work fine on both Homeworld2 and Unreal Tournament3, however, it removes the Anti-Aliasing option in the Catalyst control center. Are there anyways to set Anti-Aliasing to 4x using the 6.11 drivers?
Thanks in advance.

Try the NGO Optimized Drivers for ATi version 1.7.3

It might work
