Default ati x800 and high res...

hello guys,
had an unlucky day and my nvidia gpu died a slow and dirty way, so i have to switch back to my old x800 till i get my new gpu exchanged.

so, the box of the x800 says it supports up to 2??? x ??? resolution, but every time i go over 1280x800 (wide screen 30" tft) it starts expanding my desktop, which means i can look around like using a lens. (scrolling left/right/up/down) which is really annoying...

using 1280x800 at 30" drives me insane, cause icons are HUGE and i cant sort out the windows (have to use loads for my work )

hope someone can tell me how to solve this problem

thanks in advance!

PS: i have a dual-dvi cable connected (not sure if the gpu supports this cable but it supports the high res...) display supports up to 2560x1600 so it really SHOULD work

Thats really strange supports it only note is the monitor refresh rate should be 85 max at that resolution. Check maybe the cables are different *shrugs*

the tft uses 59 or 60hz but can handle 85 at that low res... (does not flicker at 60hz anyway....) n ever used any other setting than 60...
do i need the driver with control panel to change this "feature" as scrolling is more like a bug than a feature...
