Default My opinion about omega ati drivers

Hi all!

I have a radeon sapphire hd2600xt ddr4 pci-e I was lookin for some good modified ati 7.10 drivers & only which I found was omegas (Radeon Omega Drivers v3.8.421). I downloaded it and installed.... And all started...

When i changed resolution to 1024x768 system crashed, showed desktop with artefacts and machine restarted. That was one shit, and another:

I started play fear combat, at play i didn't saw any difference in performance between them and catalysts 7.10, but when i pressed quit happend same thing which while changing resolution: computer restarted.

I've never liked omegas and after long break when i installed them i'm disappointed about them, like last time when i had radeon asus radeon x300se pci-e. At all in my opinion omega sux! I've never had things like this at ngos modified drivers.

So I'm askin:

When ngo will give to us modified catalysts 7.10?! Is ngo still modifing ati drivers? Last modified version which i can see at ngohq.com is 7.3 which don't support my radeon :-(

I have had a few issues with the Omega set as well one was understandable a file missing when it was packed *shrugs* ... shit happens right ?

I don't like having to reinstall the driver set every time you update directx either still not sure if thats an MS , ATI or an Omega problem but it doesn't happen here with the 7.10rc4. Haven't tried it with the final 7.10 release because thats the one I was having all the CCC problems with ...

Rege has been busy with reviews and other projects new stuff coming out and we hope he will have some drivers ready in the near future. I would suggest using the 7.10 rc4 drivers for now as I am. Its a nice working stable release and actually I am using CCC on this one with VPU Recover disabled. As far as Overdrive goes seems to be working ok here but unless there is an option for it I can't set settings high enough to O/C my modded X1950.

There are some modded drivers provided by Sting1 using the old CP based on the 7.10 and 7.10rc4 but I haven't had time to test either one as I had planned too. So no feedback unless someone who has can feedback

Hope this helps

Well remember your videocard are really new and the gddr4 version more recent too... so what i give you for helping tip.... wait for optimised drivers... maybe 2-3 months i remember with my x1900 gt the first time i instaled the ngohq OD it's was really difficult to run so i took the original drivers and it's was workin... so wait till december or january and maybe all your issues will be fixed

I'm wondering about all this situation 'cos this omegas are based upon catalysts 7.10 which support this card well and this situation imo is really strange.

I'm usin catalysts 7.10 and waitin for modified ngo 1.7.10 or 1.7.11
;-)

im running the 8.42 beta drivers, im not positive if their omega, i downloaded them from a thread in the news section a couple weeks back and it didnt say if it was omega, but if it is then ive had no isses so far with them except there was a video overlay issue when i first installed them which made it so that no video's played, there was just sound and a black screen, but i just set the video overlay to "home theater" and have had no isses with it so far
