Default Mobility X1400 driver question

Hi. I've been suffering from the constant ati2dvag BSOD while playing Source mods for quite sometime.

I've tried installing fresh drivers with the latest Omega drivers. Everything cleaned out before installing.

I've updated all my audio and video card drivers.

My specs are:

Duo Core 1.6
1gb DDR2 ram
X1400 ati mobility
XP Home SP2

The CPU to AGP fix does not work for me as my card is PCI.

One thing I noticed in the Omega drivers website is this:

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Starting from Catalyst 6.6 and up, the following cards/chipsets (including Mobility) are no longer supported by the ATI or Omega Drivers

Does it apply to me? Should I use the older drivers instead?

Thanks.

Default

Ok I sort of got it fixed by backdating to the older drivers. No more BSODs. I still get crashes but a totally different error.
