Exclamation HELP!! GIgabyte DS3 being a complete idiot!!

I had heard all this hype about the Gigabyte 965P DS3 rev 3.3 motherboard, so, I bought one.

It turned up, nothing but complete hassles. Iv got it running now but its taken me about 20 restarts at 5AM in the morning before iv got work.

So, i joined this forum in the hope that someone, somewhere knows whats wrong.

This is what happens,

either....

1. When i turn the computer on the fan on my graphics card runs at full speed and stay on full speed, giving me now display but allowing the computer to boot normally in the background

2. Computer boots fine, but then the screen freezes when it comes to one of the loading screens, (choose whether to load in safe mode, or, just on the first bois screen etc) but then it kind of overlays sections of other screens in the background. SO i know the computer running fine, im just not getting any visual ( can hear windows login souund through me hi fi)

3. Computers a right tit and will just keep restarting.

With all of these problems happening its making me wonder whether to send the board back or find someone to fix the problem, but, i know one of you guys MUST know what is wrong, im sure its only a setting gone wrong somewhere.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

my email addy is emo_martyr-at-hotmail.com if anyone wants to add me on msn to help me even more. Iv never had this sort of problem anytime before. HELP!!!

Usually, when you replace a motherboard, you have to reinstall the operation system. Try to update the BIOS and please post your entire PC spec.

Well, if you can hear the login sounds, that means everything works except of your monitor/graphic card, check out the cables, try to plug your monitor to the secondary DVI slot, unplug the card and replug it. I’m almost sure its graphic card related.

hi
i think that you have a BIOS program on cd that you get with your mbo
with that program you can update bios from OS (no need for floppy disc) and you can download new bios without searching on gigabytes site

According to Everest my mobo bios is already the latest one F12. which is confusing the fuck out of me. pardon the language but im annoyed now. when the system is working fine im loving this mobo but when it hangs OMG i feel like crying. thats the honest truth.

I have checked and double checked all cables.

I know this must be annoying for everyone but there must be an answer to my problem somewhere. Surely someone else has gone through this crap and come out smiling.

Talking

hi. Thanks for all your help guys, iv decided to send the fucking thing back. Im too annoyed with it now. i think its genuinely faulty. No motherboard should cause that much problem. The guys at overclockers have been nice enough to allow me to return it,. Any suggestions on what motherboard i should buy/? i got £100 to spend with delivery costs aswell. I need something that will be nice for my cpu and beefy enough for my graphics card.

CHEERS!!!

Thanks once again

Tim

Hi!

I have the ASUS P5B, when i bought it it was a little less expensive than the Gigabyte model. Since i've had it, i didn't get ANY bluescreens, ANY problems whatsoever, even dropped it on the floor when i was working on it and it was still working. There are many other good models, like ASUS P5B, MSI P965 Neo-F, and Nvidia chipset based models you ought to look at also.
