Default Best / Worst Media players

lately i've been trying many media players and really got to love and hate many of them for one or another reason, so would like to hear ur oppinions on which ones are the best and worst media players

so, mine are:

Best Audio player: Quintessential Media Player (currently is just a development build, but it has all the functionality i want in a player and using the Bass Audio plugin it gives the best audio quality)

Best Video Player: Media Player Classic (this little beast made by gabest, is so simple yet so usefull it is just great, can play anything you throught at it with a good combination of codecs, it even has it's own very few of it's own)

Worst Audio Player: Winamp 5 (gotta say i hate winamp for the way they went after the first WA5 releases, it's just bloatware right now, whatever happened to the all good all great work Winamp 2.91 had already on it...)

Worst Video Player: Windows Media Player after version 6 (what can i say, a player that looks on the net for codecs (that doesnt even find) any other player can play, how could it be any good... not even mentioning the lots and lots of things it makes 'im hateous)

you have to see, there is actually no good overall media player out there, and they have to be separated, wonder why is that...

Notable appearances:

Audio: XMPlay, so light, so tiny, so much quality, so good player, a player that is less than 350kB for download, yet has the best quality sound a player can give without external agents, too bad settings are so limiting...

Video: VideoLan player, multiplataform wise, works with almost any video file there is, and does a hell of a job all on his own, not needing codecs or anything, which actually makes it limited...

I use Jet Audio almost exclusively here Shadowlady. No probs with codecs like some others which drives me nuts

For viddy or audio I have found this to be best .. for stuff a LIL out of synch its adjustable within the player .. lots of other cool features too ^ ^

I hated both of the Media Players (both Windows and Classic). I didn't like the functionality of either of them, nor the looks.

Though, WMP 9 & 10 I have become accustomed to: I am somewhat fond of the looks now (sleek and simple), I like how it runs down in your task-bar, and I can use remotes with it . I have seen alot of 'searching for codecs' in my days, and just put up with it (I found it was better than just refusing to play the file *LOL*). Luckily, I haven't had that problem in over 4 years now, and you'll see why in a sec !

That's when I found the K-Lite Codec Pack, best little package I have ever found, and works for everything! I haven't found a file that I cannot play! It even comes with your choice of Media Player Classic or BSplayer (I choose BSplayer, nice little program as well, kind of like VNC Player).

I find K-Lite very good for codecs here as well jbruneau but have had a few they wouldn't support .. very few mind you !!

Nimo codec changed hands and names for the life of me can't remember the name right now LOL. These codecs will in the small gaps K-Lite leaves ... I haven't had a media file using Jet Audio that I can't open here ... If I rememeber and find those other codecs will post them here they are of course freeware

Yeah I am talking about Winamp 2. V3 sucked and v5 is just v2 but with more features but v2 is just fine.
