for me best player is FooBar2000
its easy to use and you can mod it
you get sdk and you can play with it

best players for video are imo Mplayer and vlc, while amaroK is the best audio player EVER

I use CyberLink viewer for videos and Windows Media Player 11 for audio.

hmm...divX/windows media player for video and winamp for audio...always been a fan of winamp, though I like it looking "classic"

the best audio player is Evil Player V1.17 it only uses about 3MB Physical memory (6MB virtual) while playing! you have to have a good quality sound file because it does no post processing, but it supports a butt load of formats

i use WMP11 for video (codecs i use are ffdshow from afterdawn.com, which has very current ones. just downloaded one from 1/5/07)
