Default Live Messenger 14.0.8089.726 Song Display Problem

I am using Windows 7 but it seems like the newest version of the Live Messenger does not show the music I am playing in Windows Media Player 12. The previous version showed it; that version was 14.0.8064.206. This version had no problem with it at all with my Windows 7 but unfortunately I can't find this version anywhere on the web anymore. It only came out in Feb 2009.
I have checked it to be on in the WMP 12 plugin section and also checked Messenger's general show music section. I think it's the newest version of MSN that's screwed.

It seems if I open the song file from Windows Explorer (Library), it will show it but once that's finish, it will go to blank on the Messenger. If I open the song list from the Library, it still only shows the first song it opens and then after that it stops showing the song.
If I open the song or song list from inside WMP12's open option, it won't even display the first song or any others for that matter.

Anyone got this problem?

EDIT: I reinstalled the older version listed above and it still has a problem. When I open a music list (created from Windows Media Player 11), it will show the first song on Messenger, after that it will stop updating and clear the song display for the rest of the songs. What is wrong with Windows 7? WinXP SP3 never had this problem...

It could be that new MSN doesn't support WMP12..
Maybe try to send a feedback to MSN or something about it...

I don't know if this would help, but on Mac OS I am using Adium, and I think there is also a Windows version. You could try that, but I haven't tried the Win version yet.

Actually it works now. I have no idea what I did but apparently it now works properly. This is really weird.
The only thing I remember doing with WMP12 (I didn't touch Live MSN at all) is that I opened my song list and added a new song, saved it. After this, it started working. Somehow it didn't recognize the songs being played by MSN until I saved my playlist.
Weird glitch...

Ok; another member here PM me on this issue (I haven't tried it out personally as I do not want to screw it up again) and it seems if you go to options - player - "add local media files to library when played" <- enable this and then restart your computer, it will fix the problem.
Just thought I'll give a heads up for anyone else having this problem in the future until Microsoft releases a fix to this bug!
