looking for audio driver

Hi,

I'm currently running Realtek integrated HD Audio 7.1.
In order to properly run MS Flight Simulator X in DX9 mode I need to tune down my audio settings to 16 bit 8 kHz sample frequency. The Realtek audio drivers I have found sofar only support 16bit 44 kHz (CD quality) as a minimum setting.
Does anyone know of a audio driver or codec compatible with Realtek onboard audio which allows me to enable 16bit 8kHz (or perhaps any lower setting than 44 kHz)?

Games and applications suppose to control sample frequency rate automatically. Flight Simulator X is a new game, 8 kHz is like from 20 years ago. There must be another workaround for your issue. What error are you getting?

Hi,

When "flying" complex addons like PMDG or Captain Sim in DX9 mode, after about 15 to 20 mins we get a black or flickering screen or some of the textures disappear.
A possible workaround was posted on avsim.com and it consisted of tuning down your audio settings to 16 bit 16 kHz or lower. The above mentioned error didn't reproduce at those settings.
In DX10 preview mode, the error never occurs, but some flightsim addons are not DX10 compatible.
