Default HL2:DM, CS:S, TF2 - massive problems

hi guys,
i have problems playing HL2:DM, CS:S while TF2 works fine.
when the game loaded up, i cant move/change wepons/spawn;
when i enable showing fps i get 99 (locked at 100)
when i enable showing ping i get 400-500 on localhost!!!
also a steam game, TF2 works like charm!

my specs are on the left

any ideas?

PS: in steam user forum somone mentionend that its a problem with high end computers, but... my gpu is no high end, its average... no sli either

i found the solution.
i updated my chipset drivers (nForce)
now it works like charm

nope, not solved... the problem just appears 2 minutes later ingame...

it's about how many time you have this issue... try to restore back your os if the games was running well before

your fps cannot be locked to 99..
its source,not 1.6

it was never running well!
its a fresh install and i installed the games for the next lanparty...
i have no clue IF you CAN lock it, as i do not really like steam apps... (and by now i always got proofen that they suck)
if i do a benchmark (video stress test) i get FPS = 300+ ingame when showing the fps i get 99, not more (hl2dm)

so... the problem started instantly with old drivers. now comes up after 2-5 minutes. but might be "luck" or the drivers, no clue.

the strange thing is TF2 works without any problems, fine sound, fine movement, no lag no probs. and its ALL source engine on steam!

Source games have always been dodgy on nvidia hardware.

when i last tried hl2 it was fine and tf2 is fine too... so ... thats all source and in no way dodgy
