I also installed Speedfan, but my programs are all full-screen programs. That means that I needed to enable Speedfan's logging system in order to determine if the restarts are caused by CPU temperature. The only problem is, the Speedfan logging system only logs "Seconds", and not temperatures. So, I can't use it to determine if CPU temperature is the problem.

I'll try the NGO drivers tomorrow, but I really thought we had it with the RAM.
hmmm
you have allso a voltage chart so turn it on (+12)
p.s.look for voltage drop down

have you tried lowering the voltage of your gpu?

i only ask this because i had problems with certain games, ut2k4 being the main one, that simply wouldn't run more than 2 minutes without crashing my machine.

i fought with this 1800xl for a year and i did everything i could to make it happy, including buying a 100$ psu and just when i was inches away from frisbee-ing the card, in a last ditch effort i lowered the gpu volts with a bios editor and BAM, it's now as stable as any graphics card i've ever owned...

this solution may not help you but it's all i got at this point...

Well, I tried the NGO Drivers, but still no luck. It crashes less frequently on Unreal, but more on Half-Life 2.

@gen.Rage1991hrv: Is there a program that can Log things like 12V and CPU Temp. levels? Because my programs are all Full-screened, and I can't test the game and see the 12V and CPU Temp values while I test.

@DOOMJESUS: Where could I get a GPU BIOS editor? I'm willing to try lowering the voltage.

Also, a friend said it may also be the Video RAM on the Graphics card. (Which would explain why it only crashes in games, and not im applications). Does anyone know of a program that could test Video RAM much like Memtest86+ did for Physical RAM?

Thanks alot for the assisstance, I'm sure we're getting close to solving this.

this is the one that worked for me.
one hundredth of a volt was all it took to turn it from a horrible unsolved mystery to a nice gx card...
but i found out the early 1800's had a bad transistor on the die and it caused a voltage leak making the card difficult to overclock but mine wouldn't even run stable at default clocks until i did that, still can't overclock it much...

Now, at the risk of sounding like an idiot...how do I use this thing? The only things I can do is Open, Save As and Exit.

sorry for the slow response, actually i used "atiwinflash" (also on techpowerup) to grab the bios from the card, edited with rabit, saved to a new file (naturally), then reprogrammed the card with the edited rom using atiwinflash again...

it occurs to me now that the version of rabit on techpowerup is older than the one i used.
i used ver 2.0a, it can be found on softpedia.
sorry for any confusion...

Well, I lowered the VDDC level from 1.150V to 1.125V, but the thing still crashes on me.

Tomorrow, I'm ripping out the PSU and trying another one that I know works. I'm doing this because if that is the problem, it'll be an easy one to fix.

So, I'm starting to think that the problem might be the processor or even the motherboard. Which is unfortunate, because those will be the hardest to replace and test.

Well, after 1 hour of testing, I think I've found the problem.

Either a 500W PSU was not enough to run my system, or the PSU was buggy.

It's strange, because a 500W PSU should have been enough to run everything, but, apparently that wasn't the case.

Thanks for everyone who had some great ideas. It's good to know people are still willing to help nowadays.
