Well, the game is out. Let's hear from those who have it and what do you think about it?

I guess I'll get things started since I started right off with a big problem. Once I got past the Prologue, I discovered the key configurations were completely different from anything I've worked with before. In fact, they are different from even the demo IRC.

So, not a problem, I thought to myself. I'll just reconfigure the keys to my liking. Easy enough to do...except that...

The W key does NOT work for walking. No matter how many times I've restarted the game, I cannot WALK when pressing the W key. I just stand there!

It appears that the other key changes I made DO work....so why not this one?

I've made it to Chapter 3....

The controls on this game are kind of sluggish/cumbersome. It also seems that the character can get hung up on almost any little thing that's in his way. Try jumping through a window in a hurry and you can catch the edges and never get through one.

I still don't like that WALK can't be a Default movement. Why does the character always have to RUN?? Well, you CAN make the character walk but it requires using more than one key and, if you want any other movement, your fingers can look like they're playing the game TWISTER.

BUT, all that aside, I'm actually getting caught up in the little story a wee bit and want to find out what this Crystal object is all about.

One thing I DO actually enjoy is lighting the arrows and shooting the enemies. What a fascinating combat tactic!! LOL! Also, I've gotten really good with the bow and have plenty of one hit head shots in the game. That knocks them down immediately. So, any FPS gamers who like head shots, the bow is your friend!!

Maybe will write more of a review after a couple days playing. I have to go learn how to jump across the rooftops!

Wow that sounds sucky. Never had much hope for an ATI loving game anyway.

I'm not talking about the nvidia logo at the start. Correct me if I'm wrong but the fact that it's built on the source engine = ATI favored. In addition to that I vaguely remember benchmarks in favor of ATI.

That has almost nothing to do with it. The developers didn't MAKE the Source engine, they just liscenced it.
