Default Problem with HL1 (Runtime error)

I always played HL1 and mods related normally... until this message appears. Pff. Any ideas?

"Runtime Error!

Program: ...\steam\steamspps\xxxx@xxx\half-life-hl.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

You can try rebuilding the games cache file, which is available through right-clicking on the game in the Steam list

Ok! I'll try it, 10x.

mmmm... clicked, but this option isn't totally clear to me... could be "backup game files"?

Meanwhile, I discovered option "verify integrity of game cache", right clicking on the game in the Steam list -> selecting "properties"; done, but don't solve my problem... the message still appears when I try to run the game.

No... maybe I try it, if I really need to. Only thinking about remove it and reinstalling chillllllls me I'm too lazy for this . Thing is, I have this Natural Selection mod, and wanna try it... but it's a HL1 mod. I'll wait one or two more days in order to see if anyone in STEAM foruns could help me avoiding the reinstall procedure... Thx anyway.
