Ok, I'll try change drivers. Anyone knows, in the meantime, where to get memtestx86 .zip archive? Soon I'll give feedback

Year: 2256

When you read this, I won't belong anymore to this planet. Last thing remembered, I was adjusting a thing named "personal computer". In the Internet (not this which is actually inserted in our 2nd head), some friendly people were making an effort to help me, in order to fix some video issues (there was also things named "monitors"). Suddenly, when I installed a weird thing named "driver", a great flash blasted, and all gone dark. I woke up here, in Eon, 4th moon of Atlantis, 75º planet of the recently discovered Solar system of Azureus. Somehow, and don't ask me why, I managed to send this message using THE GROOOOT (there are a lot of new technologies which you cannot understand at your present time, sorry). Hope this meant a good signal to you all.

------------------

I can't resist... Truth is, no luck at all. I change drivers (84.25 and 84.56a), but those games still crash. I read something about a "visual c+ library issue", but all this seems to be far from over... Any other ideas?

When changing drivers did you use DriverCleaner or another utility to get rid of the old driver files? If not try that.

Then run this: http://www.majorgeeks.com/MemTest_d350.html

If you get errors, raise your memory timings. i.e. CAS 2 to 2.5 or 3

If you get no errors after it reaches 100% then look at your CPU, Chipset, Video Card temps. If they are fine then undo you video card mod or any other overclocking that may be going on.

Then we can go from there.

You can use the .exe to create a bootable floppy disc, instead of burning the ISO with Nero / Roxio / Alcohol / CloneCD / Etc.

Hey, thank you. I' ll try it.

What I've done until now: 1) use DriverCleaner and reinstall 84.56a driver; surprinsigly, RIDDICK goes, but HL1 still crashes. I'll finish a lecture and then run the memtest suggested by RingWraith (jbruneau, I'm not showing disdain to your idea... ).

What really surprises me now, is the difference in RIDDICK images between this 84.56a driver and its predecessor (84.56) - look:

These lights in the face of Riddick were transparent using 84.56;

These "shadows" are completely new;

And what the heck are these "body extensions"????

2) Update. No errors detected with memtest. CPU 37/40º (celsius) chipset 31/34º VGA 53º (GPU) & 50º (RAM), with ambience temperature at 24/26º. My VGA is modded (6800 gt to ULTRA), and overclocked (435/1175), but always did business with no problems at all.
