Default COD2 and DX9

Anyone have any issues with COD2? Particularly getting a DX9 error which makes the game crash. I tried updating DX and trying different drivers but to no avail it still crash. Here is what I run it on:

A64 3000+
Asus A8N-E rev2
XFX 7800GTX
Patriot XBL 2 x512MB
Maxtor Maxline 3 300GB

I don't know werty I have a 6800GS and I don't get any crashes.
I have to admit to you though that in DX9 it asks a lot from a videocard.
For some reason I haven't found a card yet that can run this game easily.
well then again I haven't tried a very powerfull card yet...
But anyways run the game in DX7 if you play multiplayer.
I know its cheap but msot people do cause you don't have as much mist or snow on the maps so you have an advantage.
And i'm not saying that cause I wanna play cheap but everyone does that anyways.

I compared DX7 to DX9 and wow DX7 is horrible. I think I will put it aside unitl a patch or driver fixes this issue.

Nope DX7 and DX9. DX8 would be better then DX7 and I probably wouldn't get that DX9 error but DX9 would be teh best obviously.

I'm currently playing COD2 with my XFX 6600GT AGP and DirectX 9.0c installed and I'm not facing any problems so far. I just started playing it a few days ago...

Patch v1.01 didn't helpat all. It was announced that a patch will be released but not sure if it will fix DV9 problems. Most likely it will add some much needed multiplayer anti-cheat system.
