by the way I'm having hangs with GTA:SA too but my system is stable. It's probably a game bug.

Yea Regeneration , i got the same issue , some times can play long , and other time i cant finish single mission .
i think too that it is game bug , not the gpu driver. Same problem on all sets that i tested on gta .

Got question for you Reg , about the FAST WRITES , shuld it be ON or OFF , i set it to off (default ON) with RivaT , and think that gained some performacne , but that can be illusion.

My spec : CPU :AMD Sempron 3000+ 512k Barton , GPU : Gigabyte 6600 GT AGP , RAM : 2x256 Kingston 400 , MOBO : Asus A7V8X Via KT400 , SB Live(Value) , letest bioses and drivers installed , for GPU NGO v1.7772

Regen, this reminds me of a problem i used to have with GTA:3
try running a program like rampage

the bug with gta3 was that when it reached 0mbs free memory it didnt' switch to the page file properly and crashed
keeping ram free will prevent this

thats if its the same problem of course
