I added the three patches also, still no luck. I am playing on windows 7 64-bit home premium. |

It worked, just took a while since it only worked when restarting the computer, not just the game. |

The game profile.xml keeps on changing, and putting the same default settings back, and the same problem is reoccuring. Where can you find settings.ini? |

Go to C/users/(your user name)/my documents/my games/far Cry 2/and open gamerprofile.xml and open with notepad, look for "Fullscreen" and change it from 0 to 1, look for "Maximized" and change it from 0 to 1, look for "ForceWidescreen" and change it from 0 to 1. Then save the document, and you are done. When you start Far Cry 2 up just click on Far Cry 2 that comes in the middle of the screen a few times and it should work. I restarted the game about 10 times just to see if it would work and it did.

I had to go through this myself and would have shared the fix with you. But, I've been tied up the last 2 nights fixing my mom's 'puter after it got infected with a Trojan. So, I missed this thread until now.

#9 | | Advanced Newbie | Just to be safe you should set gamerprofile.xml to read-only after those changes.
