#11 | | Golden Member | My question was directed at zme-ul as I don't understand his reasoning.
I would never deny anyone's right to choose their gaming platform, I'm just saying I can't understand the point of gaming on consoles and find it to be awkward.
Mind you, my gaming days started on a PSX. And I enjoyed it a lot. But a lot has changed since then.

#14 | | Dedicated Member | | PSU: Pcpowerandcooling 750. | | I have a Ps3 and it runs games fine for me. The only games I had some problems was Gundam crossfire and haze. But they weren't coded very well you could tell. I think why sometime Games have Problems Is because the Ps3 with its Cell Cpu is hard to code for and to game designers are just lazy. The Ps3 Cpu Runs in some way like a gpu so it fast it has more power then the Xbox 360 cpu but its Gpu holds it back if you ask me. its a Beef up 7800 GTx with a 128 bit memory bus and 256 gddr 3 ram. Its said that it can do 1.8 TFLOPs but I really dont see how but thats what they say. The only thing I dont like about the Ps3 is even tho sony said it can do 1080P most games run in 720P dont know why but I think MGS 4 runs 1080p. But I agree I like my Pc way more when the games are made right which is not to often now day's. I Wanted a ps3 for the blue ray and some of the exclusive titles like Resistance 1 and 2 and MGS 4. I also Fold on my Ps3 when Im not using it.

I understand Sony needs to cut costs, but carving up hardware in such fashion to make it profitable doesn't make sense to me.
Also, not one of your games on PS3 runs on 1080p. Resolution is always scaled up (if you have a capable TV), but you don't notice it from a few feet away. PS3 renders all it's graphics on 960x540 which is so laughably low I don't understand how people manage to stay oblivious. I mean, my old gaming "rig" had me playing at 1024x768 most of the time and that was 7 years ago.

#16 | | Dedicated Member | | PSU: Pcpowerandcooling 750. | | I goggled that about the ps 3 renders all it's graphics at 960x540 Did not see anything saying that it did nether did Wikipedia . The only thing I saw was ghost busters game engine was broke and was being unscaled. I also have a 360 elite plugged up to the same monitor as the Ps3 And even When I play on my Bed which is about 6 feet away it looks fine to me. My sisters husband Has a 60 In Tv that we play on when I come over and we set about 10 or more feet away from it and it looks fine to us. I know the Xbox 360 Is bad about up-scaling like halo 3 runs at 660p but is unscaled to 720 or 1080P. http://www.makeyougohmm.com/ps3-1080p-games/ |

they are a few older games with upscaled resolution and some others with "broken" engines (mostly multi-plat games), but that's it
MGS4 is the only one I know who has sub 720p resolution and it's upscaled to either 720p or 1080p

Do you guys even realize what kind of hardware you need to render modern games on 1080p? That's high, consoles just can't cut it.
