#1 | | Master of Disaster | | CPU: Phenom II x3 720 @ 3.4 | | Anyone know a fix for the Prototype crashes? Well I just grabbed prototype and sprise suprise it keeps crashing, After a few minutes of playing it will freeze and I have to ctrl alt tab it then i get a error about "The exception uknown software exception" yada yada yada.
I was wondering if anyone here had found a solution to that crash, it seems to be a fairly common problem but no solutions that I can find and Activision doesnt look like their going to bother with a patch as it should already be out.
You know this is really starting to piss me off, theres not even a point in buying a game till its been out for a year and all the problems with it have been solved, I just barely got mirror's edge to run stable enough to make it through the game but I had all sorts of BSOD's with that one.
ugh

I played that game at few different machines and works same at all of them. This game is just bugged. IMO it look like problem with main executable file of this game.

Most of the comments were about liking/disliking it and some graphical questions re: shadows. None mentioned even the first time about crashes. ???
If you're overclocking anything, try reverting to default clocks to see if the problem persists.

#6 | | Master of Disaster | | CPU: Phenom II x3 720 @ 3.4 | | if you look at the troubleshooting pages for this game there is a rediculous ammount of people having problems with it, lots of sound problems and alot of people having these crashes.
I dont think its anything to do with Overclocking, farcry 2 and fallout 3 run just fine

Cheers and good luck!

#9 | | Site Staff | Games react to overclocking and stability differently. I remember I had to reduce my FSB to get Crysis to work while other games worked. As others suggested, try to reduce your overclock and make sure to run both Prime95 and Memtest.
But I won’t be surprised if this is a bug inside the game… I also encountered some weird bug on the PC version of Prototype. In addition, the controller is poor on the PC version too, feels like a console port… I prefer the console version. |
