I had the same issue. I was on windows vista 64 bit and when I start the game the game used to crash with the message that the game stopped responding press OK to close the .exe. Application terminated unexpected or something.

Fresh installed windows and was able to launch the game.

Is there any way that is less stressful than installing windows again.

Thanks for all of your responses even though none of them worked, I even tried to clean up my computer of unused files and still did not work. I guess thanks anyway.
