#11 | | Professional Member | As an owner of both pc and 360 I've got to admit there are alot of positives to the 360. Online play with xbox live is far superior in many respects no hacks/cheats etc (only glitchers) ease of tying up with friends etc.
Also I find that with the pc I spend more time messing about with quality settings and control setups than actually playing the game....to be honest I'm finding my lovely gaming pc gathering dust....most of the games for the pc are ports of console games and so don't utilize the pc's capabilities. So as rege has said it seems quite pointless spending so much money on hardware upgrades for the pc particularly at the moment when there is no agreement on a standard physics standard and both ATI and Nvidia are taking different routes with stereoscopic 3d gaming not to mention we will have larrabee shortly.
I'm still waiting on the XIM360 (xbox input machine) www.xim360.com which will allow use of mouse and keyboard...in fact any usb input device to be used on the 360 and that will seal it for me...the latest ximflex is going to be released in mid january. |

It really is all relative, yes pc gaming is suffering slightly, but consoles are no better, and your trading the odd decent game thats not out on pc for horrible controlls and shitty gameplay.
You know, the more people that abandon pc's, the worst its gonna get, its really a shame to see you abandoning ship rege |

If i culd afford to get one , and still upgrade my PC (whit isint that muth cost if You dont target the top models ) .
I wuld do it too.
But for now my target for the summer is Engine swap for the 2.0 dohc + gearbox

So what are you gonna get? a consoles with a couple more lame games that arent on the pc which you will never play anyways plus shit controlls and bad steril gameplay.
Dont abandon the pc, stay strong and stick to your guns!

Another negative for the pc market is the release of seemingly incomplete games with numerous bugs and in addition graphics driver issues that may take several months to resolve....again not a problem with a console plays straight from the box.
All this is driving me to the conclusion that although I will continue to use a gaming pc I won't be shelling out for the high end hardware....I'll probably just go more mid range and run games that are 6 months to a year old....the advantages being that the bugs and driver issues should then be sorted....the games being older should be able to run maxed out to full effect and both the games and the hardware I'd be buying would be considerably cheaper and will have been thoroughly reviewed so I can weed out the crap.

I beleive pc gaming is far from dead, if we all showed a little more support for the industry then maybe we coudl bring it back strong again but there are too many kiddies that just pirate and dont buy |
