Well, if it were "every few hours" that would be OK by me. But, it seems to be happening between 40 min to an hour of game play.
I just did check it out and it was up to about 2.8 GB of RAM usage after about 45 minutes of playing. I exited and the usage dropped immediately to 1.5 GB.
Still, though, I am enjoying the game.
I think "The Witcher" was doing just about the same kind of CTD when it first came out. But, after a few patches that stopped. Don't know why FC2 keeps doing it. ???

But, I do recall [I think] reading that restricting the FPS to 30 using the console does help. I may try that and see if it has any affect on the RAM usage.

#85 | | Golden Oldie Member | | CPU: Intel E6700 @ 3.2 GHz | | | M/B: MSI P45 Neo F (Rev. 1) | | | RAM: 8 GB Dual Channel DDR2 | | I've hit what does seem to be a game bug. My buddy, in this case, Michele, has given me a mission to steal a map of routes from the desk at the fuel dump. I've gotten the map and also destroyed the compressor.
So, I'm to meet up with her at the attack location to help her take out the troops that are to show up. I get there and she's running around and a good slaughter has already taken place.
I've spent several minutes....20-30 at least....trying to end this mission. Once she told me I should try to get behind them. So, I went down through the grass and, yep, the mission ended all right...with her DEAD...and no one fired a shot!
I saved the game just prior to this so that I can see what's going on with it. But, it definitely feels like some trigger isn't getting tripped to end this mission and maybe, just maybe, some guy is still alive somewhere in the grass.
Anyone with a clue on this? EDIT: NM... I got it solved. Somehow, I must have made it back to Michele before the troops arrived. I went back to the junkyard and there were new troops there. I took off for the attack site with them following me and, together, we wrapped up this mission.

The original game engine in the first Far Cry was pretty revolutionary at the time. It allowed you to interact with physical objects within the game. Remember the hanging shark in the first scene? Pretty cool back then... |

There are no "freaky creatures" in FC2.
And, yes, I lost count of the time I spent striking that shark with the knife. And, also shot the chain holding it up.

#89 | | Advanced Newbie | Bump!
I just got that PC DLC with new weapons. The crossbow is awesome! It shoots exploding arrows I'm gonna have some fun with that for a while. Also the other 2 weapons are sawed-off shotgun that shoots both cartridges at once and a silenced shotgun very much like the one from "No Country for Old Men" (I love that movie by the way).
