You don't have to drive if you don't want to. You can always walk, run, crawl. Or take the bus.
But, I do agree that it's a far cry from the original Far Cry. It doesn't qualify as a sequel at all.

You're doing the same thing over and over, assault trucks spawn every 30 seconds and beside graphics there is no real captivating scenario. So if someone made a better game on far cry 2 engine i would be very pleased |

Running around with a sniper rifle hunting wild beasts or just observing them would be like a dream come true.

The one thing that is really, really bad about the game is this memory leak. I don't experience any slow down at all. But, whereas the RAM use starts out at around 1.9 GB, it steadily climbs to around 3 GB and then CTD with no error. It's really sudden when it happens.
I do save constantly, though. But, at times I'm really into the game and forget to save as I wanted to and...BAM -- CTD.

#75 | | Advanced Newbie | Weird. I have no problems with the game and I got only 2Gb of RAM. Maybe your RAM is the problem. You don't need 6Gb so just remove 2Gb or 4Gb and try it out. It's enough for any game on the market today.

I've read a lot of recent posts by gamers still playing this game and having CTDs about every 30 minutes. The only abnormal thing I'm encountering is the continual increase in RAM usage.
The game has been patched with the latest updates.
I'm using a pre-release of the Catalyst Drivers. Maybe I'll revert to the official 9.9s and see if there's a difference.

#80 | | Golden Member | You can also try cleanmem app to clear your RAM, but since you have 8 GB of it, I don't see how it could help XD Obviously it's the game's way to tell you need to take a break every few hours.
