If i had to pick my one favourite game of all for the PC I think I would have to say it was Counter-Strike: Source (you either love it or you hate it).

I love it for its pure playability, even though its not the most graphically impressive game it is so much fun to play - and it still has me addicted after years which i think says a lot for it.

I also really like CoD4 - i think that would be my number two choice - very good fun to play.

-If you asked me 6 months ago I would definitely have said Crysis too - for its sheer beauty, action and storyline, but now there's no way I would choose it.
I think the way it runs so badly on most (even high spec machines) is so f****ing annoying that it completely takes any pleasure out of the game.
Also its real need for some SERIOUS optimisation still (which doesnt look like its ever going to happen) has made it go down a lot in my opinion - so much so that I have actually started to seriously HATE it, which is quite sad because I used to love it so much.
The fact that this game still largely runs like sh*t and Crytek won't give it anymore optimisation that its desperately needs is also a f***ing insult to all the PC gamers who went out and spent their money on it - its a goddamn DISGRACE!
- phew - there, sorry i've finished my little rant now.

The other games I would mention that I really liked were the TOCA Racedriver series ( 2 & 3 - the first REAL online multiplayer racing games for PC) - and of course GRID - lovin it! - these would all count together as my "number three" choice.

P.S - does anyone want to buy a second-hand copy of Crysis?

CPU: Various, qx9650 et all
GPU: Various, 4850 et all
M/B: Various, ga-x48-dq6 et
RAM: Various, DDR2 OCZ et
PSU: Various, 1000W Dell et

Starcraft & Broodwar (ain't bought ST2 yet)
Civ 4 (though 3 was better in some respects)
Taychon
Freespace (oh so many mods, BSG, B5, Stargate anyone?)
Idependence War 2: The Edge of chaos (have never managed to get my hands on ID1)

It no particular order

Would highly recommend
RAMA
BladeRunner (now missing a CD though I'm hoping to find a copy)
Star Wars: EAW (I have won rebel before tatonine is destroyed but it still blew up, so didn't have to destroy DS but have to replay to see if there is any way I can save that planet)
X series

Damn so many others but won't go on, find that a lot of the newer games even though they have better graphics etc lack the gameplay and storyline found in older ones.

Speaking of which just started playing supreme commander though never played any TA, am enjoying.

And I'm up for a second hand copy of crysis, need to see what the fuss is about.

Currently, I'm on my 3rd time playing The Witcher. This game could well be included in the top 5 of my favorite all-time RPGs....except that it's so riddled with bugs it's not funny. Hopefully, the Enhanced Edition [which is to be free to download for registered users] will take care of the oh-so-many-bugs in the game.

If you're looking for a story-driven game, this one should be on your list for sure! Just be prepared to save your game every 5 minutes so you don't lose so much progress when it 'freezes/crashes/BSODs' and you have to restart your PC to get back to it.

Fine, but have you double-checked system specs to make sure that both your CPU & Graphics card are running on Nuclear power?

Shadowrun - Genesis
Comix Zone - Genesis
Sid Meiers Pirates - PC (2k3) & NES
Caesar 3 - PC
Doom 3 - PC
Quake 2 - PC
Quake 4 - PC
Star Wars - Knights of the Old Republic - PC
Typing of the Dead - PC
Resident Evil All - PS1 & PS2
Dragon Quest/Warrior ALL - NES, SNES (Translated) & PS2
Super/Mario Bros 0-3 - NES
Genghis Khan - NES
Turbo - Coleo

Edit: Had to edit because I forgot one of my all time favorites Baldurs Gate, that and Icewind Dale.

More factions, new enemies, epically improved AI, tougher fights (more humans less mutants), more weapon upgrades, improved artifact system, bigger world to explore, but overall more of the same shit we love. Also it's supposedly easier to make mods for it. If you've tried the latest "Oblivion lost" mod for stalker, it's almost like a new game.

Hopefully it won't be released full of bugs like the original.
