Default F.E.A.R. No Sound problem

Well i just got the FEAR game . played only demo befor , and it installed with out no problem , the 1.00to1.08 was big , so while downloading it i tryed the game , well i have sound only on the first animation when the game starts , when i jump to the start menu no sound , same when i launch a game , and i land in a dumpster , blocked ,

I found os some forums that its sound driver/codecs releted , i even aplied some fixes they were sugesting , without luck .

Then i aplied the 1.08 patch , it dint do nothin, i have latest drivers for my card.
My card HDA X-Mistyque 7.1 .

Hmm... weird. I had the same problem except me it would start at all, there was an error message that was sound related. I changed the card to another PCI slot and somehow that fixed the problem (Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit).

I really don't know what could be the cause of your problem.

sorry to say but Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit is buggy; had it too, had endless driver problems and compatibility issues; its really importand in which pci slot you put it, as those slots share some resources/interrupts

probably same problem @ HDA X-Mistyque 7.1 although i do not know this card at all...

x-fi here (and no probs at all; and god please keep it that way )

The problem is fixed , and it was not card releted , ther was some files missing in my xp/system32/ folder "imaadp32.acm/and 5 other .acm files . The files comes with Audiocodecs_XP and laso with every instalation disc of XP . But they fucked them with SP2. or something , in my case the file were missing at all.
