Lightbulb MASS VIDEO BIOS DUMP PROJECT

well, a friend and i where thinking, wouldn't it be great to go to a website and search for any Video BIOS for any card there is in the world? i was wondering if any one on NGOHQ would think that this idea is good, bad, or would like to help?
obviously we will not have all the BIOS's in the world, and i think that the idea has potential , but it would require having a lot of people willing to dump their Vid BIOS to a Standardized format (BIN, or other), for the types of card (Nvidia, ATI, Other), and also the series of cards (Nvidia examples - FX 5000 series, or the 6000 series), the date and version for specific cards also. MODDED BIOS's for each will also have to be categorized

also, if anyone knows of a good universal Vid BIOS dumper/loader Program (if one exists) your feedback will be nice, but any good dumper for either Nvidia or ATI would be good too.

the point of this whole project(to me) is to help other's find a good clean Vid BIOS that they can use if their attempt to mod their cards goes wrong

A quick question- a newer BIOS for a card is on a newer card, can a older card with an older BIOS use the newer BIOS?

so far i have done nothing but come up with it, but i hope that this idea can come to life through the combined effort of everyone in NGOHQ and the internet.

just to let anyone in the forum who is cares, hopfully this project can become a wing of NGOHQ (if i am so bold to say so)

to admins-

also i am noob, if there was a better thread to put this topic in, just move it

We thought about it already but most of BIOS images have copyright protections. I’m sure that some companies will not have a problem with it; but there are other few that waiting for a reason to sue us. We are currently working with our lawyer about it and waiting for his final answer.

There are several sites that have video bios databases already where you can download video bioses from the best known vendors.

Or would you answer, 'Never have I heard anything more divine?"
