Used a VB chat area on a few forums and found they are rarely used. One thing that does work and have that installed on a few is a shoutbox.
Depends on the crowd have seen that shut down as well because of immature attitudes.

Might work here though

i doubt it will work.

check rege's latest poll and you'll see that the visiters of this site come from different time zones.
i rarly get to see more than 6 members at a time in here and this kind of chats require members to be at the site A LOT. it just can't happen.

i could integrate pjirc for yah, its simple as and it won't take server bandwidth to run (other then loading the java applet) as i'll register a NGOHQ chat under a gamerz service

my site has a java chat applet... just need to get it back up.

I think that Rege was talking not about the technical stuff rather about People not going with all questions/problems etc etc to forum , but to the chat , and that wuld make less people get ivolved in the forum.

Anyway , here is my opinion , i dont like chat too muth , and i dont want it here (personal opinion). Never use it , never will , well someone mentioned shoutbox, ther is one on MOBL2 site , and i was using it rarly , but from what i seen , mostly its ben yoused BY PEOPLE WHO ARE TOO LAZY TO SEARCH FORUM FOR ANSER , MANY REPETED QUSTIONS ,DUM QUESTIONS most from noobs of course . And the second problem of shout box , is that it have benn used for DISSING other people etc etc . They make it only active for members , but then it went lil silent , coz member know wher to search forum , and dont use shoutbox to get info on things
