#6 | | Golden Member | I watched it yesterday and I have to say it's a very good movie. Some thing I don't get, but whatever. It has that Paul Verhoeven touch to it, which is good, but the director took it too far (like Verhoeven did with Starship troopers). That "documentary" intro is too long and at one point I feared the whole movie was going to be like that, but luckily things turned around.
Also, why did they make the lead character so goofy? Why make aliens with so advanced technology so utterly and pointlessly stupid (with due exceptions)? I mean, scientist build technology, not the general public, but nevertheless, most of those aliens could only figure out how to get some food and procreate. not that smart, after all.
All in all, good movie, especially when we look at some of the recent sci-fi "movies" with nasty aliens. Like Alien 4 or Aliens vs Predator (vol 1 to 500; how many are there?).

#7 | | Site Staff | Saw it yesterday, pretty decent. But I had some hard time understanding their accents. If you are going to watch it - use subtitles. I agree with mkey, they took the documentary intro too far. |

#8 | | Golden Member | lol I had hard time understanding the aliens, too.
Seriously, the speech is not understandable at times, but I think that adds to the atmosphere. Like, when aliens communicate with people, they kinda know what everyone is saying even though they don't strictly understand each other.
