Default Doesn't work.

  • Disabled UAC (User Account control panel).
  • Restarted.
  • Ran tool.
  • Enabled Test Mode.
  • Restarted.
  • Installed ATITool 2.6.
  • When prompted, told Windows to install the unsigned driver anyway.
  • Restarted.
  • Ran tool.
  • Signed C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\ATITool64.sys.
  • Restarted.
  • Ran ATITool.
  • Pop-up told me that the driver wasn't loaded.

Note: Didn't see Test mode watermark on my desktop but during the restart sequences it popped up for a minute so I'm guessing my desktop is covering up the watermark and during shutdown my desktop goes away, showing the watermark.

Try this:

1. Move ATITool64.sys to C:\
2. Use DSEO to sign ATITool64.sys inside C:\
3. Move the signed file back to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
4. Restart

Tried that, still doesn't work. When I go to the properties of ATITool.sys it says that it is signed by NGO.

What can I do to check that A) I'm in test mode and B) that NGO signatures are accepted?

If you have NGO signature in the file then its working. Make sure its the right file (ATITool.sys or ATITool64.sys?) and try to sign the system files inside ATITool's folder (X:\Program Files\ATITool).

I think it was actually a bug in ATITool, not in this software. Out of curiosity though (when I want to use the software for other drivers in the future), when exactly do I need to restart? Currently I am restarting about 4 times during the process of installing one program but that seems unnecessary. Can I get that down to a single restart and if so, when during the process would I do that?

Also, does UAC have to be fully disabled all the time or just at a certain point in the procedure? Can I run with UAC in auto-accept mode?

To avoid similar issues, please update DSEO to the latest version.
