In fact that tower with the original CPU and mobo intact is at work running smoothly.

About 2 years ago on my recommendation my mother called Dell as I indicated I was happy with the service and product from Dell. They were short with her and only interested in her financial information. Four times the guy tried to talk her into upgraded systems for gaming, etc .... the most system intensive game my mom plays is solitaire

SO .... after that I will not be recommending anyone to Dell and secondly Edward if you are considering buying a computer package this way avoid Blue Hippo as well its a scam.
Thank you for the reply, Mac Daddy.... I'll also say- my expereince with brand name computers (in chronological order: Proteva, Emachines, Acer and now Gateway) has been very good- I havent had any major problems with hardware failure.... Enough to contact customer support!....The proteva ( Cyrix , anyone lol ) is stil going strong , hardware wise- albeit win 95 .... Emachines is working very good - after falling and spiuing smoke LOL - Acer notebook, other than it getting overheated until I upgraded the BIOS and this Gateway - Makes wierd (Fan?) Noises once in a few whiles-(not 90% of the time) I havent had a really bad expereince with computers from name brands other than what i have mentioned above..... But i'll say this: the most reliable computer i have had has to be the emachines ! (proteva is very close, too!) I dont know about emachine build quality now, but back when i got it ( Athlon xp 2800+ 80GB HD era/days) it was very good, i suppose......

But now that I am thinking about it: Should i even build the computer for that person? ( being my brother- but i might also build one for my cousin, too!) I mean- Is it more reliable building it oneself? (as long as you use decent, reliable components?)- I would happily build a new comptuer for someone- it would be 'learning" expereince (lol) - but , on the other hand, i would sure have to hate supporting it adnaseum (if , at all, it ever came to that) with "issues" ......

Mac Daddy, or anyone: What is the best company to buy a computer from with DECENT Waranty and/or Tech support? Doesnt matter if from expereince or heard from a freind.... I'm guessing for that, i would have to pay premium- no? i think my brother is willing to spend up to 1.5 thou on his next rig..... And he wants it for URT 3 Boy, does he love that game (2004 variety )... so much , i'm thinking of getting him antoher, DIFFERENT game.... it is kind of annoying sometimes to hear the Tank shoot it's missles at night (he has a subwoofer) lol....

Thank you in advance

To put an end to this issue Dell called me today to say the XBOX360 would be here by Friday of this week but it had arrived last Friday. After a long conversation with the CSR they emailed me shipping labels and I am returning the entire order and they lost a sale of $1000 worth of hardware
