NVIDIA's new 512Mb card could be a Trojan
NVIDIA's new 512Mb could be a Trojan Published on October 9th, 2005

Some updates regarding one of our previous article about the 7800 Ultra. Our brother Hilbert over at Guru3D managed to find out some more information on the upcoming GeForce card based on the G70 core. However NVIDIA has denied any knowledge regarding the "Ultra".

Hilbert also raised a possible option which says the upcoming 512MB card based on the G70 wouldn't simply be just another card with some more memory but the answer to the current X1800 XT, which could happen. NVidia's Adam Foat also told DriverHeaven about the upcoming 512MB card but adding more memory isnt the biggest of surprises? He also added "One hint I will give you though, watch this space for our own 512MB board". Unfortunately nothing has been said about the clock speeds!

We currently have no information regarding the specifications and clocks except of the amount of memory and the core. NVIDIA has cancelled the name, but not the card. If this theory is true like we believe it is, NVIDIA can surprise us all with the pearl of the GeForce 7 series pretty soon. However another option with lower possibility is late release of the "Ultra" card but it will undergo a name change.
